EARL CANTEEN

 

Nestled within Melbourne’s 360 Collins Street food dining precinct, EARL Canteen is encompassed within a unique, scalene-shaped floor plan. The brief required cohesion with existing store designs, adding a distinct ‘cool’ Melbourne touch to finishes and details, while creating a ‘grab and go’ environment suitable for individual or small groups of city workers. The resulting design consists of four key zones, each of which feature curved geometry, tactile surfaces, terrazzo finishes and bespoke light fittings. The moody, grey palette used throughout the space is cleverly combined with natural materials to achieve a quintessential Melbourne feel.
